Established in 1999, this prestigious award recognizes the chief executive of a District III member institution for outstanding leadership and service in support of education. We invite nominations of chief executives whose contributions to their campuses and communities deserve exceptional recognition and celebration.

 

CHIEF EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP AWARD SELECTION CRITERIA
The CASE District III Chief Executive Leadership Award may be presented annually to an outstanding president, chancellor, headmaster or system head of a District III CASE member institution. Chief executives who have retired during the past year may be considered for the award. To qualify, a nominee shall have demonstrated the ability to:

– Create a vision and inspire others.

– Establish a positive image for the institution while leading it to higher levels of success.

– Increase the institution’s stature in the community.

– Encourage innovation and risk-taking among employees.

– Actively support all aspects of institutional advancement.

AWARD NOMINATION PROCEDURES
Strict parameters have been established; partially submitted materials and materials other than the kind and volume specified will not be considered. Succinctly make a written case for your chief executive without the use of video, multimedia, elaborately produced printed pieces or bound materials. Materials should be unfolded 8 1/2 inches by 11 inches sheets of paper printed on one side only. Submit a letter of no more than three pages stating the nominator’s connection to the nominee and outlining the nominee’s qualifications for the award. Include specific examples of what the chief executive has done to:

– Create a vision and inspire others.

– Establish a positive image for the institution while leading it to higher levels of success.

– Increase the institution’s stature in the community.

– Encourage innovation and risk-taking among employees.

– Actively support all aspects of institutional advancement.

Submit a detailed CV for the nominee, not to exceed three pages. Provide letters of support from three individuals outside the institution. If the nominator is not an employee of the institution, then only two of the letters of support must be from persons not employed by the chief executive’s institution. Each letter should be no longer than two pages. Nominations from institutions represented by members of the District III selection committee will not be considered. Nomination packets from the previous year may be resubmitted. No entry fee is required.

Upon final selection of the award recipient, the nominator must confirm that the chief executive will be present during the conference awards banquet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta. All nominators will be notified of the award recipient by September 1, 2017. District III will not notify nominees other than the award winner. All submissions are the property of CASE District III and will not be returned. The complete entry packet must be received or postmarked by July 28, 2017. Faxes will not be accepted.
